Groom Wedding Toast YouTube Video

Hi guys, my name is Mike Tracey – and this is Linda, my wife.  Linda and I live in Kansas where I work as an electrical contractor and Linda works as a nurse – pretty much red blooded Americans.

As you can see from the photo, Linda and I recently got married – and maybe you are planning on taking the plunge yourself.  If you are, then this video is for you.

I want to take a few minutes and talk with you about something that you may have never thought of before – the Groom’s Wedding Speech.

What is the groom’s wedding speech – it’s that time after the wedding, at the reception when all the spotlights are on you to say something to address the masses – your guests.

Look, I’m not a big fan of getting up in front of people and saying anything, much less a meaningful  and memorable speech.  In fact, you might say that I’m pretty much an introvert where I would much prefer bamboo shoots under my nails than to address a crowd of people.

Anyway, I pop the question to Linda and she loving says yes.  I’m now the happiness man on the planet.  We start going out and looking at dish patterns, glasses, china, silverware, household furnishings – the list seems almost endless.  And believe me fella’s, this stuff can take a lot of time – especially if you or your fiancé are the least bit indecisive.

We also start talking about wedding plans like picking a place for the ceremony, reception, the cake, the preacher.  And then it dawns on me as we start talking about the reception that I’m going to have make some sort of speech.  My blood ran cold.  Instead of doing the responsible thing, like start preparing now (we had a 1 year enguagement), I procrastinated and put off the working on my groom’s wedding speech until 1 week before the wedding.

So when I started working on it, I was totally stressed out because: A) I didn’t want to get up in front of a crowd of people and B) I didn’t know what I was supposed to say.

Needless to say, I started looking everywhere I could on the internet for information.  I talked with married friends and acquaintances, asking them what they did for their wedding speech.  I got a lot of good information, but it was almost like drinking from a fire hose – too much information.  I was overloaded – almost paralyzed.

So that’s really the purpose of this video – to give you guys a few tips and pointers on how to successfully tackle this thing called the groom’s wedding speech.
